BACKGROUND: Design - architectural and graphic, ex-contractor.
PROCESS: The typical process for a project is to post a library of photos that clients can pick from, knowing all the costs in advance of their choices. Every image has been retouched before delivery, which includes two copies of each: one for the web, and the other full-resolution for printing. I do all my own post-production, and can also scan and retouch existing prints and files.
I'm aware some of my clients need images for a wide array of uses, will be submitting images to competitions and for publication, and may want to split costs with other parties, and I'm happy to facilitate all of those things.
AND MORE: Years ago, I had a three-octave range (tenor-baritone); it's all phrasing now (for practice, I prefer the car over the shower). I freely give into long-term obsessions with design, music, science, good writing, and trying to figure out what's going on in the mind of my Wheaten Terrier.
I write professionally, including blog posts for ASMP's Strictly Business blog, here, and teach workshops for photography students and advanced amateurs on Digital Workflow and Basic Business Practices. I currently teach a class at Pasadena City College on Professional Business Practices for Photographers.
